Jan Cord Becker, born in 1972, has been CEO of Hermes Schleifmittel and Chairman of the Board Hermes Schleifkörper since January 2010.
He studied mechanical engineering at Braunschweig Technical University in Germany and at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA. He then took a Ph.D. degree at Hannover University under the supervision of Prof. em. H. K. Tönshoff.
In his function as Chief Engineer at the IFW - Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools at Hannover University, Jan Cord Becker was especially involved with the development of innovative abrasive processes.
In 2004 he switched to Airbus Deutschland GmbH, where he was employed in management functions in Hamburg and Toulouse (France) until the end of 2009.

Mr. Johann Unterwieser, born in 1960, has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hermes Schleifmittel since 2010.
Johann Unterwieser studied business administration at Karl-Franzens University in Graz (Austria) focussing on industrial business management, organization and financial law.
His professional career began with an Austrian packaging manufacturer before he joined Hermes Schleifmittel in 1991; he has been a manager at the Bad St. Leonhard i.L. site in Austria since then.
